How much is Robux worth in real money?

Ten Robux amounts people actually ask about, priced both ways — what a player pays to buy them, and what a creator receives cashing them out — at all four published rates.

Every amount at all four rates

Robux does not have one dollar value. It has a buying price and a cash-out price, and they are about 3.3 times apart. The first money column is what a player spends; the rest are what Roblox pays a creator.

Which rate applies to you

Picking the wrong row is the biggest single source of wrong answers here, because the rates differ by a factor of three and nothing on your screen tells you which one your balance qualifies for.

RatePer RobuxPer 1,000Applies to

How it is worked out

One multiplication. There is no fee inside this figure and no rounding to hide — the reason answers vary so much across the web is that people quote different rates without saying which.

value = Robux × rate
per 1k = 1,000 × rate

Where rate is dollars per Robux from the table above. DevEx settles in US dollars, so a pound or euro figure is that dollar amount multiplied by today’s exchange rate — which is why nothing here is quoted in anything but dollars.

Worked example: 100,000 Robux

The amount most often searched, priced in both directions:

To buy = 100,000 × 0.0125 = $1,250.00
Cash out = 100,000 × 0.0038 = $380.00
Difference = $870.00, a factor of 3.29

That gap is the platform’s revenue, and it is why a balance should never be valued at what it cost. At the 30,000 DevEx minimum the same arithmetic gives 30,000 × 0.0038 = $114.00, the smallest payout DevEx will process.

What these figures do not include

  • The 30% marketplace fee. These are conversions of a balance you already hold — if the Robux is still coming from a sale, take the fee off first.
  • Income tax. DevEx pays gross and withholds nothing, so the money that reaches your bank is less than the figure here.
  • Payment-provider fees on the payout itself.
  • Rate changes. Roblox has revised the DevEx rate before and prices retail Robux differently by region, platform and bundle size.
  • Whether your balance qualifies at all. Only Earned Robux can be cashed out.

Frequently asked questions

How much is 1,000 Robux in dollars?

About $12.50 to buy and $3.80 cashed out. Those are two different transactions, not two estimates of one price: $12.50 is roughly what a player pays at retail, and $3.80 is what Roblox pays a creator for 1,000 Earned Robux at the standard DevEx rate of $0.0038 per Robux.

How much money is 1 million Robux?

At the standard DevEx rate 1,000,000 Earned Robux is $3,800.00. The same million costs about $12,500.00 to buy at retail, so a balance built by spending is worth far less than it cost. A million Robux earned before 5 September 2025 falls under the legacy rate and pays $3,500.00.

Why can I not cash out 10,000 Robux?

DevEx has a 30,000 Earned Robux minimum, so 10,000 is 20,000 short however much it is worth on paper. At the standard rate 30,000 Robux is $114.00, which is the smallest DevEx payout possible, and only Earned Robux counts towards it - purchased Robux, gift-card credit, Premium stipends and traded Robux do not.

These are published rates, not a quote

Rates are the figures Roblox publishes at the time of writing and can change. Retail pricing is an average across bundles and platforms; your own cost per Robux may differ. Nothing here is fetched live, and no fees or tax are deducted.
