What next?
The 30% fee is one step in getting paid. These are the others.
What your result means
You keep is the Robux credited to your balance — the only figure that counts towards a DevEx cash-out. Roblox takes is the marketplace commission, deducted before you ever see it. The cash value converts your share at the standard DevEx rate of $0.0038 per Robux, which is what Roblox buys Earned Robux back for. Player paid about is the retail cost of that many Robux at roughly $0.0125 each — the gap between the two is why a $10 sale never feels like $10.
Why this one is different
Both ends of a sale are shown: what lands in your balance after the marketplace cut, and roughly what the player had to pay to send it. The fee rate is stated rather than assumed, and the cash equivalent at DevEx rates is there for anyone deciding whether a sale is worth making.
Why the split is so much wider than it looks
Players call it "Robux tax", but it is a platform commission: Roblox keeps 30% of the sale price of game passes, developer products and avatar items before crediting the rest to you.
The bigger squeeze is invisible. Players buy Robux at about $0.0125 each and you cash out at $0.0038 each, so 500 Robux costs a player roughly $6.25 and is worth about $1.33 to you after the fee. Neither number is wrong — they are simply two different sides of the same currency.
How it works
The fee is a straight percentage of the list price, taken at the moment of sale. Your share is the remainder, rounded down to whole Robux — Roblox does not credit fractions. Because the deduction is proportional, the split stays the same whether you sell one item or ten thousand; only the totals change. The cash figures then apply two published rates: $0.0038 per Robux for what you can cash out, and about $0.0125 per Robux for what a player pays at retail.
How to use this calculator
- Enter the price you charge, in Robux.
- Leave the fee at 30% for game passes, developer products and avatar items. Change it only if you know your split differs.
- Read You keep — that is what reaches your balance.
- To see the payout in your own currency, pick it and paste today’s exchange rate per US dollar.
- Working backwards from a target instead? Use the before-tax calculator to find the list price that nets a round number.
Formula
List price is the Robux a player is charged. Fee is the marketplace commission as a percentage — 30 for standard sales. The result is rounded down because Roblox credits whole Robux only. Roblox’s cut is simply the list price minus what you keep, so nothing is lost to rounding on their side.
Example calculation
A 500 Robux game pass sold at the standard 30% fee:
Roblox takes 30% = 150 R$
You keep = 350 R$
Cash value at DevEx: 350 × $0.0038 ≈ $1.33
The player paid about 500 × $0.0125 ≈ $6.25
To clear the 30,000 Robux DevEx minimum on 350 Robux a sale, you need about 86 sales.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Roblox fee always 30%?+
For game passes, developer products and avatar items, yes — Roblox keeps 30% and credits you 70%. Other flows differ: group payouts move Robux without a marketplace fee, and paid-access experiences use their own split. Change the fee field if your case is one of those.
Why is my cash value so much lower than what the player spent?+
Because buying and cashing out use different rates. A player pays roughly $0.0125 per Robux at retail; Roblox buys Earned Robux back at $0.0038 through DevEx. Combined with the 30% fee, about 21p in every pound spent reaches you as cashable value.
Does the fee apply to Robux I receive from a group payout?+
No. A group payout transfers Robux that has already had the marketplace fee taken when the original sale happened, so it is not charged twice. Set the fee to 0 to model a straight payout.
Why is the fee so high compared with other platforms?+
Roblox covers the platform, hosting, payment processing and discovery, and the fee also sits on top of the difference between what players pay for Robux and what developers receive for them. The effective take is higher than the headline 30 percent for that reason.
Does the fee apply to Robux spent in my own game?+
Purchases made through your game pass or developer product are subject to the marketplace fee regardless of who buys them, including you.
How should I factor the fee into pricing?+
Work backwards from what you want to net, then check the list price is still plausible to a buyer. Pricing forwards from your target almost always leaves you short by around 30 percent.

Assumptions & limitations
Every figure here comes from a simplified model. Keep these limits in mind when reading your result:
- The 30% default reflects the standard marketplace commission at the time of writing; Roblox can change it, and some sale types use different splits.
- Cash values use the published DevEx rate of $0.0038 per Earned Robux. Balances earned before 5 September 2025 cash out at the older $0.0035, and qualifying spend from age-verified 18+ US players earns $0.0054 from 8 June 2026.
- The retail comparison uses about $0.0125 per Robux; actual price per Robux varies by bundle size, platform and Premium membership.
- Exchange rates are whatever you enter. Nothing here is fetched live, so the currency conversion is only as current as the rate you paste in.
- Payment-provider fees, minimum thresholds and any tax you owe are not deducted — the DevEx calculator covers those.
